La Paz Hall Council is the student-led organization representing Colonia de la Paz, commonly called La Paz for short. We are dedicated to creating a welcoming, connected, and engaging residential community where every resident has an opportunity to participate and be heard.
Hall Council serves as a bridge between La Paz residents, hall staff, and the Residence Hall Association (RHA). Through weekly meetings, community events, advocacy, and resident-led initiatives, we work to ensure that the interests, needs, and ideas of La Paz residents are represented.
La Paz Hall Council works collaboratively to:
Plan social, educational, and community-building events
Gather feedback and advocate for resident needs
Promote belonging and connection throughout La Paz
Represent La Paz at Residence Hall Association meetings
Share campus and residential leadership opportunities
Encourage residents to take an active role in their community
Provide leadership and professional development experiences
Hall Council is made up of elected student leaders, La Paz House Representatives, General Body members, and four Resident Assistants who serve as Hall Council Mentors.
Our elected leaders guide the organization, while House Representatives connect La Paz with RHA. General Body members contribute ideas, provide resident feedback, and assist with programs and initiatives. Hall Council Mentors attend weekly meetings and advise student leaders as they work toward the council’s goals.
Every La Paz resident is welcome to participate! Residents may run for an elected leadership position or join the General Body without campaigning or being elected. Whether you want to lead, help plan events, advocate for your community, meet new people, or simply share an idea, there is a place for you in Hall Council.
Hall Council meetings are held weekly and are open to all La Paz residents. Join us and help make Colonia de la Paz a community where residents feel heard, connected, and proud to call home!
